Charcoal from Coconut Shells
While charcoal can be made from coal, wood, or other substances, activated coconut charcoal is special. It's made by burning coconut shells at a very high heat of 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit with steam in the absence of oxygen. This creates millions of tiny pores per gram.
Coconut charcoal is also processed with additional steps from other sources of charcoal to remove impurities and produce finer grains, which is ideal for promoting natural detoxification.*
This activation alters the structure of the charcoal to create a highly adsorbant material, covered with millions of small pores. These pores are the secret to charcoal's many positive benefits for the body.*
What is Adsorption?
The adsorption process is a binding process. Through adsorption, particles to a substance surface. Not to be confused with "absorption", in which particles enter into the interior of a substance.
In supplemental use, activated charcoal binds foreign substances within the pores of the charcoal for promoting natural detoxification.*
