How ButyraGen® is Different

The active ingredients in ButyraGen® are tributyrin, which is a butyrate generator, and partially hydrolyzed fiber, which serves as a prebiotic. Gut enzymes break down tributyrin to generate butyrate, a postbiotic. 

That fiber also has prebiotic properties, allowing it to work synergistically to promote butyrate-producing bacteria in the gut.* Tributyrin has its own unique qualities: Released via an enzymatic process, it generates butyrate without regard to the microbial population of the gut unlike commonly used prebiotics like inulin. ButyraGen® has been evaluated in pre-clinical studies, with future studies planned. 

The Role of Lipase Thera-blend® 

Lipase releases butyrate from tributyrin by hydrolyzing the glycerol. We specifically use Lipase Thera-blend®; due to its broad activity range and multiple strains, it can release butyrate throughout the entire digestive tract.
