How to Deal with the Stresses of the Most Joyful Time of Year

The most joyful time of year can also be a stressful one – getting together with the ones we love isn’t always easy. Stress comes in many forms, some of which are within our control. To get through the holidays, read on for our best tips for dealing with stress. Share this with your clients who might be feeling a little overwhelmed this time of year – and keep this list in mind if you start to feel your own tensions rise.

  • Stick with the basics. To-do lists tend to grow during the holidays, so streamline and eliminate what you can. In terms of self-care, focus on the big stuff: sleep, healthy meals, regular exercise, stress management, etc. Now’s not the time for extra credit!
  • Put on your own oxygen mask first. (Both in terms of stress relief and ensuring you have foods you can eat.) To better care for others, we must first care for ourselves. Self-care isn’t selfish, so carve out the time you need to take care of you.
  • Pack the essentials. Even the most predictable digestive system can encounter some challenges this time of year. Be prepared with your favorite formulas for occasional heartburn, healthy digestion and more.^ (From Enzyme Science, of course!) When you rely on the best, you can’t simply run out to the corner store to grab more.
  • Remember “no” is a complete sentence. We still have only 24 hours in a day. Be realistic about what you can do – and honest about what you want to do. While some obligations are unavoidable, others can be skipped over.
  • When in doubt, laugh about it, hug it out or take a deep breath. All three can help you relieve stress and shift out of “fight or flight” mode.
  • Be prepared with immune support.^ Stress impacts all parts of the body – including your immune system. Keep Enzyme Defense® Pro close by all season long, as your first line of defense.^ With proteolytic, fibrinolytic and mucolytic enzymes, plus vitamin D3 and lysine, it delivers respiratory and sinus support while also targeting thick, excess mucus.^

Unfortunately, the specialized enzymes in Intolerance Complex will only help you digest the food on your plate. It can’t help you increase your tolerance for your relatives’ shenanigans! (We kid, but who can relate?!)

But as a reminder, it does contain higher-potency enzymes that offer support for digestive sensitivities.^ It helps the body break down food more efficiently – and delivers fast digestive relief for occasional bloating, gas and indigestion.^

From all of us here at Enzyme Science, we’re wishing you and yours a very calm, chill and not-at-all-stressed holiday season!
